Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register for the Vehicle Rescue System?

To register, click on the "Register" button at the top right corner of the homepage. Fill in your details including your email, password, and select your user type (Driver or Mechanic). After registration, your account will need to be verified by an administrator before you can access full features.

How do I request help as a driver?

Once logged in as a driver, navigate to the "Request Help" page. Enter your current location details and describe the issue with your vehicle. The system will automatically locate the nearest available mechanic and connect you with them.

How do mechanics receive job requests?

Mechanics receive notifications when a driver in their service area requests help. You can view job requests on your dashboard and choose to accept or decline based on your availability and expertise.

What information do I need to provide as a mechanic?

As a mechanic, you need to provide your business information, service radius, availability, and required documents (Ghana Card and Police Report) for verification. You'll also need to set your profile with contact information and business details.

How are payments handled?

Payment arrangements are made directly between drivers and mechanics. The Vehicle Rescue System does not handle payment transactions. We recommend agreeing on costs upfront before beginning any work.

How do I update my availability as a mechanic?

You can update your availability in your profile settings. Simply go to "Profile" > "Edit Profile" and toggle your availability status. This helps drivers know when you're ready to accept jobs.

What if I have an issue with a user?

If you experience inappropriate behavior or issues with another user, please report it through the messaging system or contact an administrator. We take user safety seriously and will investigate all reports.

How do I verify my account?

Account verification is required for mechanics to access all features. You need to upload required documents (Ghana Card and Police Report) through the "Documents" section. An administrator will review your documents and verify your account.

Can I switch between driver and mechanic roles?

Yes, if you have both driver and mechanic accounts, you can switch between roles using the "Switch Role" option in your profile menu. Note that you cannot switch to an admin role as that is restricted to system administrators.

How do I rate a service provider?

After a job is completed, you can rate the service provider through the "Rate Mechanic" option on your dashboard. This helps maintain quality standards and assists other users in selecting reliable service providers.
